THE LADY DIOR

A STORY OF AN ICON

In September 1995, Lady Diana – who was visiting Paris for the opening of the Paul Cézanne retrospective at the Grand Palais – was offered a Dior bag to wear on her various outings. Thanks to this exceptional ambassador, the bag’s name was a given: it was to be called Lady Dior.

The mini Lady Dior carried by Lady Diana in 1996 during the prestigious Met Gala (Metropolitan Museum), has been specially reedited in exclusivity. Embellished with strass and blue satin, sublimating its architectural lines, this object of desire, a quintessential of Dior’s creativity, will be available in limited edition. A celebration of heritage and savoir-faire excellence.

A jewel of craftsmanship, it embodies all the excellence of the House. Celebrating the virtuoso skills of the Dior ateliers, the essential piece is brought to life in Italy. Its leather, delicately stitched with the emblematic cannage, enhances its architectural lines, while each detail, conceived with infinite meticulousness, marks its uniqueness, such as the “DIOR” charms – a tribute to the magical thinking of the foundingcouturier – which punctuate it with a finishing touch of refinement.

Over the years, the legendary bag has blossomed in a multitude of colors, sizes and materials. Its renaissance, season after season, is now carried by the vision of Maria Grazia Chiuri who has redesigned it in new shades and formats, from Lady D-Lite to Lady D-Joy. Alternately adorned with entrancing prints, embroidery, or details revisiting the spirit of macramé, the Lady Dior lends itself to the most daring reinventions.

Striking a perfect balance of modernity and timeless elegance, the captivating story of Lady Dior continues to be written, becoming, more than ever, a work of art. For the Lady Dior As Seen By and Dior Lady Art projects, artists from around the world are rising to the challenge of reinterpreting and transforming it into chef d’oeuvres that unite singular heritage and a wealth of multifaceted imagination
